Bio-Clean as a Carpet Cleaner For Pet Accidents:
· Laura Earles · Client Services · Master Home Environmentalist · When all other harsh cleaners won’t work and vinegar and baking soda do not either. · Bio-Clean is a natural product that utilizes the power of bacteria and enzymes to break down wastes, both human and animals. We have three dogs, all lovely with the youngest and littlest one prone to potty accidents. We decided to try Bio-Clean as a carpet cleaner to see what would happen to those nasty stains from urine and feces.
· First you clean off as much of the material as you can, (using gloves and rags or paper towels.) Soak the area with hot water, then cover with rags or paper towels and push in to soak up. Then apply a solution of Bio-Clean and warm water. (not hot or you will kill the enzymes, not cold or they will not activate) (you can mix in your cup we provide or mix 2 tablespoons per pint.)
· We then drench the area with this solution letting it sink into carpet. (We even sprinkle in some bio-clean and rub it in using a damp rag) Let it sit a bit, then rub area. (We use a Bissell brush cleaner) Mop up or vacuum up with machine excess water leaving damp. The enzymes work only as long as the carpet is damp. Let air dry over a day or so.
· Usually this first application works, especially if you capture the urine and feces right after the accident. This product only works on organic pet stains, grease even blood so you have to treat other types of stains differently. We usually clean all carpet first with Bio-Clean then go back and use oxy-clean but this is only for annual cleaning. This is for safe and effective pet urine and stain removal.
